My experience using Avail, the airport-based car-sharing service
I’m always looking to add to my income streams, preferably with minimal effort, so I was intrigued when I came across Avail.
Avail is an airport-based car-sharing service where car owners can make money while they travel. The Avail website succinctly summed up the rental process while addressing the biggest pain points for travelers:
- Drop off your car, and the awaiting shuttle will whisk you away to your terminal. No paying for a costly Uber.
- While you’re away, you can earn up to $35/day if your vehicle is shared. Regardless, parking is free and you can avoid paying for expensive airport parking.
- Come back from your travels to another waiting shuttle that will take you back to your professionally cleaned car.
I started by setting up an account on Avail’s website, which took about 10 minutes. The application is short and easy to follow. I answered a few basic questions about my car (make, model, year, mileage, insurance information, etc.) to confirm my car qualified. Then I plugged in my travel dates, and I was good to go.
